The least amount of time you have to get in shape for a marathon is about two months. That’s assuming you are not already in shape just a little bit. For the first week you should try to run a mile three times that week. And at the end of the week you should try to run the three or four miles at one time. After each week you will start to add on to each daily run and to the last run where you will be running further. By the time two months is up you should be in good enough shape to run a half marathon.
