Treatment for hypothyroidism and weight gain?
I’ve recently been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and have gained 20 lbs in a fairly short period of time. Ive started running 3 times a week, and dance once a week, and do yoga once a week. I havent lost a single pound!
So my question is, how long once I start my medication will I notice a change? I miss my old body and I’ve just been so depressed about the wait gain.
Thanks so much.
hey there hun,
I can completely understand. Well kind of, i am having some tests done regarding my thyroid at the moment. Fingers crossed its all ok.
Anyways, i think its like up to 3 months for any medication, how ever everybodys different. Some people notice the change straight away and others it takes awhile. Also, you and your doc should talk about a change in dosage if your levels arent getting better within a certain amount of time. It takes awhile apparently to get the right dosage for each different individual. Please dont give up, you will get your right dosage and start losing the weight.
If you do have any other worries or concerns dont hold back from going to see you doc or endo or who ever you see, its there job to help you in any way they can. Even if it is 20 Questions lol
Take care and i hope the meds start kicking in soon for you.

P.S. If ever you would like to chat i have an open door
and it would be nice to chat with someone about all this, as i have no idea whats going on myself with my body ….
