    @missAntoiniaSyrene …
@missAntoiniaSyrene, this post was 2 months ago, have you gotten help yet? I have hypo also and finally found someone to help me. I have been on Armour Thyroid for only 1 week and feel much better. I feel for you, I hope your doing better!

    You will never hear …
You will never hear a Hypothyroid patient say that the lab tests are the key to feeling good. My Dr. put me on T4 only, “Labs were normal”, and I still felt like crap! I asked here about the addition of T3 and she got pissed, did more blood work, and said T3 was “Normal”. So I went to a naturopathic Dr. and she put me on Armour Thyroid (Combination T4/T3) and feel much better! Let them treat you based on symptoms, not labs!

    You need to slow …
You need to slow down a little and eat what is required daily. If you don’t have enough calories and workout a lot, your body will hold onto weight. If your still having problems even after the change in diet, I’d get a hold of you endocrinologist and tell him/ her of these issues. I have hypo and had the same problem until I followed what the nutritionalists provide. Good luck.

    I only got …
I only got diagnosed because my blood test showed that my thyroid wasn’t working at all they didn’t care about the symptoms and now I take medication but my sisters blood tests come back normal and she has all the symptoms of hypothyroidism yet she cant get the medication. I think some people have a lower working thyroid without it showing up in blood tests somehow

    Lab results always …
Lab results always said I was normal, but my mom was always worried. I was an active child and ate healthy foods, but I kept gaining weight. No matter how hard I try, I can’t lose weight. I gain weight ridiculously fast when I change a minimal thing in my habits. Gained 10 lbs in 3 days for eating a bowl a cereal, a piece of fried chicken, a tablespoon of rice, and lots of water per day. I nearly fainted and had to drink a cup of soda to make me feel better.

    I was diagnosed …
I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism at 16 and I was sooo skinny and jittery. I had to get radioactive therapy and now I have hypothyroidism at 17 and now I’m gaining a little weight and my hair is falling out at an alarming rate. I’m always cold and I’m super irritable all the time. Not fun. :/

    yes, but its been …
yes, but its been around longer and is made so it doesnt give allergic reactions.
I started on 1/2 grain, then slowly up to 2 and then backed it down to my normal does which is 1 during summer and 1and 1/2 during winter ( to avoid cold feet and hands syndrom)
FWIW, im cured now. westrhoid can be bought on the internet. Keep looking till you find 3 sources then get the cheapest one. Good luck

I have had to live in sweatpants for the last year because I can’t afford new clothes. And I am exhausted..hard to raise a kid..go to school and work with this disease

    I feel sluggish …
I feel sluggish quite often during the day and early as 8:00 PM.

I’m a night owl that normally feels sluggish around 1AM!

I suppose I could have this. I’ll have to make an appointment :(

  • compassionrepublican says:

    I did the basal …
I did the basal temperature test and self medicated with westhroid. Bottom line, educate yourself and read everything. If your doctor isnt helping, become your own doctor. All he does is read too.

    God Bless

  • AlexaIn2006 says:

    They never address …
They never address the underlying problem of the autoimmune diseases that typically cause thyroid problems. You must become educated and be your own advocate because many doctors do rely on labs and disregard symptoms.
