Treating the thyroid will involve replacing or restoring the hormone that is missing and allowing the proper functionality of the thyroid gland. There are two types of preparations available to cure this, T4, T3 and T4 is usually used during the initial stages. T3 is used when the patient is in the advanced stage. The T3 is used to immediately replace the hormone and start gaining the functionality.
Thyroidism generally occurs when the hormones secrete above their normal levels and this might have adverse effects on the body. To control this, there are many remedies available. For the radioactive remedy, radioactive iodine is used. The surgical method is used rarely, and they remove the parts that secrete excessive hormones.
Cancer in the thyroid glands:
Cancer in the thyroid glands is considered the most serious problems in the thyroid glands. There are three methods to remove these cancer cells from the thyroid glands. One can remove it using surgery or through lymph node dissection. In surgery the cancer-affected cells are alone removed and in the lymph node dissection the affected part is removed.
Autoimmune thyroid disease:
This could be cured by reducing the amounts of antibodies in your body. The thyroid glands secrete the anti-bodies in large amounts and this could be reduced by removing these excessive secretions.

why is my thryoid numbers going higher even tho I am on high synthroid?
One year ago I was diagnosed with hypothryism. 50 mcg of Synthroid took my numbers down to 5.59 and then 2 months later I’m back up to 20. and now 42 . I feel unbelievable tired and wonder if there isn’t a natural way to treat this condition such as iodine?
Iodine is a great way to treat your hypothyroidism, and is very safe. Call your doctor and see if it’s the right therapy for you. However, with the iodine treatment, you’ll most likely have to be on low-dose Synthroid for the rest of your life.

Pregnancy and Low Thryoid?
I am 17 weeks pregnant and my doctor just ordered a thyroid test along with some other "routine" tests at 15 weeks. They called me last week to tell me that all the tests came back normal except my thyroid test came back low (they didn’t give me any other information – at the time I didn’t realize how seriouse this can be.) They want me to get a Free T4 test done, which I will be doing tomorrow. I wasn’t having any symptons that I have read about online, so I’m not sure why exactly my doctor had the thyroid test done (I’m glad she did though), I’ve had previouse thryoid testing and they always came back fine, so I was shocked. After reading online about the thyroid function during a pregnancy, I’m concerned about not being on medication thus far. I’m just wondering why, if my doctor has reasons to suspect without symptons that I had a thyroid problem, did she wait until I was well into my second trimester.
Has anyone been diagnosed with a thyroid problem late in pregnancy?
Thanks

Acrylic nails and thryoid medication?
Hello, I have been on thyroid medication (synthroid) for 7 years and since then my acrylic nails lift all the time. I have finally just figured out that it is due to the medication. Does anyone know of any bond that works well with a client that is on thyroid medication to stop the lifting?
Thanks for your help.
You could try calling around local salons to find a nail tech in your area who uses C.N.D (creative nail desighn acrylic liquid and powders,
explaine your problem and ask her if she can do your nails and use "radical" liquid and not "retention" ,
this is what I have done with some of my clients who had this prob due to the same types of meds,
I know it sounds complicated but if she is creative trained she will know exactly what your asking for,
it is also worth asking her that as you have been having your nails done for years and that you know you will more than likely need more maintance app’s and maybe a few more fixes than the avarege client and will she be able to give you any kind of long tearm discount. reterning clients is a good thing for any nail tech ![]()
good luck hun
Depression or Low Thryoid Meds?
Has anyone taken meds for depression while pregnant? If so what was the turn out?
I took depression meds in the begining of my pregnancy, but quit in the begining of the second trimester! You and your doctor will have to make that call, and outweigh your risks and benifits!
And my son is fine!! He is 4 1/2 now, smarter and cuter than …. well he’s smart and cute lol!
Goodluck, and congrats!
Not enough biopsy of the thryoid nodule to determine if it is benign or cancerous, doctor suggests a surgical?
suggest surgical biospy. However, the nodule is 3 cm, why not remove the nodule whether it’s cancerous or not, it will only continue to grow.
Sometimes that’s what doctors end up doing. They will surgically remove the nodule, probably do a freeze biopsy of your other tissue to make sure it’s benign, and depending on what you agree/ sign before surgery, you can immediately have a total thyroidectomy if the biopsy during surgery ends up being cancer or you’ll be closed up if it’s benign.
I would suggest asking what your doctor thinks, and I also suggest getting a second opinion…maybe they can accurately perform a FNA biopsy. Good luck!

Have a wonderful holiday, or evening!
