Fat Albert?
i am looking for cartoon like characters that show symptoms of endocrine problems. like hyperthyroidism etc?
Would hyperthyroidism have some of the same symptoms as lymphoma?
You lose a lot of weight & have problems with sleeping with both of them, I know.
I’ve apparently annoyed people here by asking some questions about my friend who was diagnosed with hodgkins lymphoma recently and is basically like in a total state of denial / shock about it, so I don’t know if a recap of her deal is needed. I’m not trying to feed into the denial or anything but she told me that she thinks the tests she took for lymphoma could be wrong and that it’s maybe hyperthyroidism (over active) because a blood test result showing something up with her thyroid and her grandmother had it. I know nothing about hyperthyroidism, and I haven’t found that much info it. I’m just wondering if people understand the difference between the both & if one could be confused with the other.
There is no confusion at all about it. My son (he had a sarcoma) was diagnosed with hypothyroidism (thyroid condition opposite of hyper-), but he also had cancer . . . the two diseases often show up together. He was treated for both.

My TSH Is "Normal" But my uptake and scan says I have "Graves Disease that is consistent with Hyperthyroidism"
What if your Uptake and scan reveals Graves disease but the TSH blood tests and T4 FREE tests are normal? Is the doctor right to refuse to put you on medication when you are suffering Hyperthyroidism symptoms?
I have borderline hyperthyroidism and take .05 mil.of methimazole a day.I think I shouldn’t have to take it because I still have the symptoms, and I think that its not a therapeutic dose.Maybe yours is borderline also.
Why is fatigue a symptom of hyperthyroidism?
Wouldn’t the person have more energy instead?
Yes, fatigue is a symptom of hyperthyroidism. It is also a symptom of hypothyroidism.
A person has more energy if they are hyperthyroid? Good lord, no! Who told you that? You have absolutely no energy when you have hyperthyroidism. First of all, hyperthyroidism interferes with your sleep. So you are tired all of the time. Plus, hyperthyroidism doesn’t give you energy. It makes you produce too much adrenaline. That’s a completely different thing from energy. Having too much adrenaline is like having the "fight or flight" response 24/7. You know when you are scared, and your heart leaps out of your chest? Try feeling like that 24/7. It’s exhausting. The human body can’t function with that kind of an overdose of adrenaline. We evolved to be able to function on that kind of adrenaline for like a minute, until we are out of danger. (Like until the saber tooth tiger is no longer chasing you.) The human body can not handle that 24/7.
And, your muscles basically dissolve away when you have hyperthyroidism. So even if you by some miracle had some energy, you can barely move your body to do anything. And no amount of exercise (if you by some miracle were not too fatigued to exercise) would build muscle. Exercise is counterproductive when you have hyperthyroidism. It burns up more muscle instead of building muscle.

Are the symptoms for Radioactive Iodine Treatment for hyperthyroidism bad?
So i have hyperthyroidism and currently I am taking medication to lower my thyroid hormone. Since I am almost at a normal level I have to start thinking about permanent treatment and these options are Radioactive Iodine Treatment or Surgical Removal of the Gland or Nodule. Don’t know what to do because if I get the surgery I’m going to have a scar on my neck after the surgery and with the Iodine treatment I am not quite sure what the symptoms will be and if it will make my goiter swell down back to normal. What should I do?
I had two surgeries and the radiation treatment due to thyroid cancer. The surgery, like any surgery, wasn’t pleasant but not nearly as bad as the pain I see from a C-Section. I was up an walking around the same day as each operation.
The Radioactive Iodine treatment is nothing. You have to fast for a day then they give you something to drink. After a few days they run another scan. Painless and easy.
Coffee Talk #2. Hyperthyroidism. Signs, cures, etc.
Anyone who has had this please tell me what you think about the different curing methods. What I’m afraid of is taking the pills might cause me to gain weight because it slows down your metabolism,… or does it? Medical sites make me pretty confused. I don’t know if I have it yet, but based on symptoms my mom and I are pretty convinced that I do. This is some of the information on it in this video. If you know anything about it, please share. Or just comment me!!
